The Chairman informed the Committee that the whole of the property formerly known as Inland Lot No. 3 had been resumed by Government at a cost of over £240,000 and that it was now proposed to utilize practically the whole of this area for the erection of a large block of Offices, Recreation Rooms, Dormitories, &c., in connection with the Central Police Station. He submitted plans showing that the proposed building would be 4 storeys in height and that, owing to the difference in level between Hdlywood Road and the Compound of the Police Station, the two lower storeys, whilst standing above the level of Hollywood Road, would be almost entirely below the level of the Compound.
The plens showed that, in addition to the entrance-hall and staircase, the two lower storeys would contain a large gymnasium, two recretaion rooms, a reading room, with bar attached,
